All across many coasts of European countries people seeking a better life or escaping persecution and war abandon their life jackets when they are finally ashore or rescued from dangerous waters.
Urgency, fear and uncertainty causes some to abandon clothes and artefacts, some of which may be essential and some, like Superman, a long-time companion, to be sorely missed.
