Martin Davey is an artist based in Southampton and the winner of Southampton City Art Gallery’s Open Exhibition in 2018 with his painting Winter Shopping Season Southampton.

Martin’s painting spans traditional and digital methods, exploring fantasy elements and more classic scenes such as landscapes, often painted ‘plein air’. The work stretches across genres and methods of mark making. With attention to detail, colour and combined with a simple visual message his  work remains accessible to a broad audience.

Winter Shopping Season Southampton is currently on display in the  Main Hall of the Gallery where you may also see Martin creating new paintings during the run of this exhibition.
