Southampton Urban Sketchers was set up in February 2014, on a volunteer not for profit basis, where local people can sketch ‘on location’ the people, places and buildings that make our city such an interesting and distinctive place to live and work, and celebrate its unique maritime ‘cityscape’.
We invite you to explore and enjoy this small selection of some of the 5000 sketches of the city and the local area produced over the last nine years.
Come along to our next sketchcrawl! We are holding these in the Art Gallery on Saturday 4 March and 1 April. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings; it’s a great way to get to know people in the city with similar interests in sketching. There is no subscription, and we also encourage children to attend as well to sketch alongside their parents. Just look out for events posted on our Facebook page:
