Main Hall

The Main Hall features a rotating display that showcases Southampton City Art Gallery’s internationally renowned permanent collection. The paintings and sculpture are currently arranged to highlight the various major bequests that have contributed to the growth of this significant collection since the founding bequest of Robert Chipperfield in 1911. The installation also includes a focus on some of the individuals and organisations whose generosity has left an indelible mark on the city’s collection.
