The poem and painting, although independent of each other, can exist collaboratively as different facets or representations of the same rare, brief and startling moment.  Sometimes they are completely separate but at other times they merge and fuse together…

On the water, early morning
Rigging of yachts jingle and chime
Birds swoop over peaceful dawning
Isle of Wight ferry and smooth coastline
Passenger’s disembarkation nearing

Long lines of buildings, the new, the old
Mists in sunlight disappearing
Transforming everything to gold
