In 2020 Lisa Traxler was awarded first place in Southampton City Art Gallery’s Open Exhibition with her sculpture, ‘Time Traveller – Voyager’ which was inspired by a painting from Southampton’s Maritime and Local History Collection ‘Approach to the New World (Olympic)’ by artist Norman Wilkinson.
Taking her winning entry as a reference point, history and architecture collide in this exhibition to create an immersive landscape within the gallery setting. Alongside dazzle artworks the artist has created a new series of sculptures transforming and dissecting previous works.
This solo exhibition will be running concurrently with our 2022 Open Exhibition.
